This Gladesman needs Help-Personal Emergency
Wife's car has died and need affordable and reliable car ASAP (a few days if possible.). Sunk too may $$$ in a 95 Mercury Grand Marquis then it blows a head gasket - game over for that car.
I know this might be the wrong thread but am looking for exposure in a section I have spoke on often.
Haven't bought a vehicle in decades and way out of touch with that market so if anyone has or knows of a good vehicle for sale Immediately please let me know via pm or whatever.
After sacrificing a lot over 20 years to protect what we have left it looks like things are catching up with me.
I know - if you're gonna be dumb you gotta be tough.

Hey Frank, I wish I had a vehicle to give you. You've done, and still do, so much for this community and our culture.
I'll keep my eyes peeled for a reliable vehicle for you.

I don't have one to sell at the moment, but if affordable and reliable are what you're looking for find yourself a 1993-1996 F-150 with the 4.9 inline six. You can't kill those engines.

Have run into a possible decent vehicle for the $$$ but the title specifies - "rebuilt" -
Saw on google search many pros and cons on that type title.
Does anyone have experience with getting liability insurance in So Fla when a car has a "rebuilt" title?
Just don't want to buy a vehicle that hyped up insurance will remove initial savings within a few years since we ploan on hopefully keeping what we buy for a long time.

Re: This Gladesman needs Help-Personal Emergency
I would avoid a rebuilt titled vehicle for many good reasons.
Look for a private sale, clean title and if you don't know cars have a mechanic with a good reputation check it over before you purchase.
Don't rush a buy and make a costly mistake.

Re: This Gladesman needs Help-Personal Emergency
Understood - even though the pressure to buy is serious.
Have researched rebuilt title and read a bunch - I know "rebuilt " hurts resale - that has to be why the deal looks so good - as much car as anyone can expect for low $$$ - but "rebuilt" + So Fla is epi-center of auto fraud any way it can be done - that was told to me by self identified reputable auto sales person.
This car buying is a financially dangerous as skydiving is u only have limited funds.
A great friend lent me a vehicle for a couple of weeks to take some of the pressure off - that will help. Can't beat that.

A rebuilt title can be no big deal, or it can be catastrophic. If it was wrecked, and repaired properly, you could get by forever just fine. If it was underwater, disaster awaits. Try running the Carfax to see why it has a rebuilt title. Good luck in your search. I hope you find a good one!
Re: This Gladesman needs Help-Personal Emergency
The rebuilt title vehicle was the same day he brought it by for me to see.
Didn't find that out until the next day - such is life.
Miraculously I am on another hot prospect and drove 40 miles to see it today - looks like a winner title and carfax perfect,- looks brand in and out new like other one with title rebuilt spec. 2001 Merc Grand marquis, 55m miles, 1 owner except for an estate heir (lady's son) and current owner, garage kept, under $5 m - will be returning tomorrow to take for mechanical inspection by top firm "Old Man Jones" referred me to.
Keeping my fingers crossed that it checks out fine.
