PSYCHO DECKOVER

Has anyone ever heard of or know anything about Psycho deckover boats....I was told they were built some where around fort pierce, fla.....

Yes they were built in ft. pierce, no not built anymore.

I just bought one built in 2003 gonna put my 200 on it....looks to be really solid and very wide....just wondering about its history...good or bad

Greg I found this photo in the archives - have never seen one in person. :thumbleft:

This picture was taken in Central Florida at the south end of Lake Kissimmee. The airboat is a custom built aluminum deckover by Psycho Airboats in Fort Pierce, Florida. Posted 7-23-04

They only made a few of them, and I think that was one of the lower sided ones.

Looks kinda like a low sided Palm Beach hull. How did it run? Thinking about having one built with a 200

yea that is exactly what I thought when I first seen it....a cut down palm beach.....it is 11' long and 7' 9" wide with an 8" transom...6 t bars and 2 bulkheads...really well built but light....man said it was fast and run flat and free and would really slide and No trim tab

There is still one around here somewhere that was built for a buddy that had a 220 on it, a couple of them had healty car motors with gear boxes but the ones I remembered with 4 cylenders looked the best to me. The other ones were higher sided and they looked a little goofy to me.

The one in the picture is Scott Smith, he ran that boat a lot of years and it ran good with his 200 on it. He just changed up hulls a few months back.

yep, the fella I bought it from got it from scott smith.....he then blew the engine.....and had it for sale with no engine or prop...I have a pretty rank 200 so this should be fun...its my first deckover......great info guys...much appreciated

Looks like a lot of fun. I think you'll really enjoy it!

not much to build man.....just mount the engine and wire up the gauge panel and mabye some new slick bottom otherwise it is going to look just like the old pictures.....can hardly wait!!!
