Newbie saying hello

Post by M-Haywood »

Hello, I'm new to the site and I'm relatively new to the sport. I recently re-did a 2001 GTO airboat that I bought from northern Mississippi. The 454 Chevrolet engine was set up and full of water from sitting outside for 5 years. I brought it back to Michigan and stripped her down to the bare hull and started cleaning. She's all back together now with brand new poly and a fresh engine, rebuilt by Doug Curey, probably one of the best airboat engine builders in Michigan. I would love to see how many fellow air boaters there are here in Michigan.

I diligently searched the classifieds on this site for many months before I ended up finding my boat on Craigslist. I must say that this site has been a ton of fun to browse and I finally made the effort to join. Since I got my own rig I feel that I can me an official member now lol.

Welcome to SA! The guys in the Alaska Airboaters Forums have some cool videos posted of them running on snow. It looks like it's a blast!
