Time to raise some funds to rebuild and pay for information that leads to the identification and prosecution of the low life doing this.

Someone knows. The caliber of people that hang with this person will roll over for fairly low sums of money typically.

I got $500.00 waiting if someone organizes.

Don't know if I've ever been there but I would like to contribute to the rebuilding and possibly lend a hand putting it back up.

Why not rebuild it with all metal construction so it won't burn? The cost would be about the same and the scum that did this would have to work a lot harder to do any damage. I'm talking about a good size metal carport type shelter that can be put up for around $2,500. Get your local AB Club to sponsor it and ask for donations through "Go Fund Me". This affects air boaters everywhere so I don't think you would have any problem getting the support to rebuild.

Make a plan, get the proper approval from the controlling government powers, have a "barn raising party with dinner on the grounds" and get it done!

Pontoon: I didn't forget. I slid by the pile at Old Mans (spike) yesterday. Just seeing who else remembered.

I hope this doesn't just turn into another camp gone we will never get back. I would like to help re-build, just hope it happens.

It may not get burned down next time, but I'm sure it won't stop the low lifes from shooting holes in the roof and other stupid crap.. :violent1:

You all are right about what the hell is going on with these airboaters?? I got my news letter from KRVSA and some low life ripped up some of the expensive permanent park grills that were donated and put out on Kissimmee . WHY WHY WHY?? We go the extra mile to make things fun for ALL people and they vandalize and steal. :dontknow: :florida: :florida:

LOL You said it brother! Sad that this kind of thing happens. Too many people that don't give a crap about preserving things that have been created years ago for us to utilize. Hope it can be rebuilt even better than before. Sent you a PM, Ol Yeller

It's why communisiom doesn't work. When you rent a DVD from the library it's all scratched up with food on it and people are such a$$holes on our roads. Just like the two baby cypresses mowed over at Nathens Mound. People just distroy stuff they don't own. But as soon as that a$$hole bones his mom, I'm sure the fires will stop.

Respect for things that belong to others is something that should have been instilled into those bottom feeders that are doing this kind of stuff when they were young. Now it's way too late to change them, so it's high time for some plain old vigilante law. It can be done, but with cool heads and commitment. It's not enough to say how terrible you think these kinds of vandalism are ..... that's a given. How many of you are actually willing to commit to stopping it? My guess is not many, and for understandable reasons. Getting involved often puts you under a spotlight, but it's not gonna go away on it's own.

I don't think they had anything to do with Bear Bluff being burnt, but the St. Johns River Water Management burns them down too.

They burnt down Camp Nowhere a few miles to the south several years back. There was an attempt & meetings to save it, but the best anybody got was a notice to get anything valuable out of it before they burnt it. The attempt to save it was to consider it a storm shelter, but they said no because it was only accessible to airboaters and not kickerboats, kayaks, horseback riders, etc..

I think Bear Bluff was being spared by the SJRWM because it had been there for so long. If I remember right, they required the name & contact information for someone to be held responsible for that structure, which was someone in the Clark family I think.

It's a shame, but that's about six camps (most with a lot of oldtime river history) being burnt that I can remember within about 20 miles.

Rick
