Very sad, I remember well. Went there a hundred times when I was younger. WILD HOG BARBQ was great.

I'm not a big conspiracy theory guy, but I sure hope it wasn't somehow in the way of the Feds plans. I know there was a group trying to raise funds to restore it. Just seems unlikely that it would spontaneously combust?

One way to stop it. Good trail cams and a 16 foot extension ladder. People don't look up, I've used it repeatedly and it works every time. Once you ID boat then do what you gotta do. Then and only then will it stop

Wouldnt be surprised if it was NPS. The last thing they want is anyone restoring that place and bringing interest to the preserve. They are slowly but surely pushing everyone out of BICY.

That's what I thought about all the camp fires. Funds running low? Gov camp site? Liability issues.... What to do. Burn em down and don't rebuild... Easy inexpensive solution for them. Just didn't make sense this is happening across Florida within weeks of one another. Kinda makes you wonder....

Two cellular cams looking at each other is the best way because nothing can happen to them either without you seeing it in realtime.

Word on the street is that NPS was already cleaning up the rubble before an investigation was done...

The Everglades has been declared a world heritage site.
This means that like other national parks that are world heritage sites, these resources have actually been "deeded" over to UN non-governmental organizations.

These resources no longer belong to "We the People" any longer. That is the reality.
Please learn about the world heritage biodiversity programs, and the UN agenda 21.

Once you have that knowledge and understanding, all of the anti-public access management practices we observe being implemented will make perfect sense.
And yeah..... you can bet your sweetass that the resource administrators are watching what we discuss on these topics. What else do they have to do beside tax free helicopter rides and picnic outings to Cal Stones camp that they stole, spend our taxpayer dollars, dream up ways to kick us off of our public lands, and surf the internet all day looking at child pornography.

So for more than a century, they have drained, screwed the Seminoles, developed land, built dikes and levees using my tax dollars and now we can’t have access anymore……. WTF

I don't know about Seminoles being poor, but the Miccosukee indians are far from being poor. Growing up they l remember seeing them living in thatched huts on the north side of 41. Now they all have concrete homes. Big standby generator in case the power goes down. All are driving new high dollar vehicles. More toys than you can shake a stick at. Loop road is lined with houses. They pay no taxes on anything. They dictate who can have a camp in their reservation as it should be and collect money for that. Gambling has changed their lives for the better that is for sure.

 JMO it's not the Gov. burning down the Camps, that's just so far off the grid, the Camps don't cost them anything, as for liability :dontknow: I know the head guy for the SJWMA and they are investigating all the Fires, so, when you ad Fire and Drunks and a lot of wind  accidents happen, at the pontoon camp the fire was blown onto one of the platforms a few years ago by an airboater I'm sure it was an accident but, that is what happens when you park in the Camping area :thumbleft: besides we all can build anything  so, lets get the wood and rebuild the shelters, or just keep a tarp in the Boat to get out of the Rain... I built the platform at the Turtle Camp, all I had to do was go through the chain of command and get approval, just like anything else, once the word was given I used my own money and time to build the platform, for all to use :usa: and just for the record I have asked for permission to build another shelter at the Turtle Camp, time will tell, all they can do us say no  some people say we are crazy for using our own money, but what price do you put on Paradise......I for one work all week to RIDE on the weekend

Yes I did read it. Did you have trouble reading it? No I am not jealous of the indians, someone referred to the poor indians and I thought it was ironic. They got screwed by the white man and now it's the other way around. Problem is some of them can't handle the wealth. So they get drunk and run up and down 41 from the casino to their village and cause accidents.

Question. Why does any of this surprise anyone? Who isn't getting it that the Federal government is in a headlong rush to grab all the land they can lay hands on in central and South Florida?

Why would they do that? Could it possibly be because the greatest oil and natural gas reserves in the Northern hemisphere might lay under the Everglades? Hmmm ....

Not sure that they get mineral rights when they grab it. At one time people that were concerned about losing places where they grew up hunting, were glad to see some government help to secure a place to hunt. Traditional hunting was promised so it was accepted reluctantly. A bunch of bunny loving tree augers got together and said no fair, they are putting tire tracks in the grass. This diverts the water flow and we can't have that. So the park service dumped miles of road rock and built a raised road thru the woods and said to everyone, There now you can see all of nature in all its glory. DO NOT LEAVE THE RAISED ROCK ROAD. This is why I would not ever vote to turn one inch of land over to the government

It looks to me like they are gaining control of all the water? At some point water will be more valuable than oil as far as controling the folks.
