South Florida . . Report In

Post by Deano » Fri Oct 07, 2016 8:10 am

It's Friday morning and Matthew is offshore of Titusville. Luckily, through the night the storm has picked up a little speed and gone a little more North rather than a little more west. To someone on the unaffected side of the state, these are generically good things. Radar looks as though the bulk of it has passed and is north of West Pam Beach.

I haven't even looked at the news this morning yet, as I'd rather have accurate info from people I trust rather than hyper-boiled mellow drama from the MSM. I am hoping the lack of posts so far this morning does not mean that many of y'all are without power, although even that could be a good thing if that's the extent of it.

So that all begs the question, "How did you guys further south make out?"

I sit corrected . . . In spite of my lack of calendar awareness :blackeye: , I will feel better about the whole deal after we hear from a few of the guys who are on the back side of the storm. Glad to hear your Mom in WPB dodged a bullet, hopefully that will be representative of the selection.

We've been blessed over here in the Tampa Bay area ....... some rain and wind, but nothing more than a usual tropical storm. In watching this all unfold it looks like storm surge could become a big problem along the North Atlantic coast. My little woman and I are both praying for your safety over there, y'all. Stay strong.

Vero beach was right in it. I have some small limbs and leaves on the ground. 5" of rain in gauge. No power since 11pm last night. By the way my yard is full of trees so I thought something should of snapped but not complaining. Put a pic in the gallery of radar at my house 3am

Yeah, had the Elevator Guy at my house last night. He helped me polish off a case of bluegills. Made for some good sleeping medicine. ;) Took me all of fifteen minutes to clean up the yard this morning. Talked to my nephew in Palm Bay. He said lots of wind and rain, no damage. No power since 10 last night. Looks like Titusville got hit HARD. At 8 AM, eye wall was right over the top of town. My brother evacuated to Orlando so no word on damage there yet but I'm guessing extreme.

We're good in St Cloud, never lost power and wind probably not over 50 mph.

Glad things are looking good so far. Pray all that have not checked in are just sleeping in and are safe and sound.

Orlando nothing, the worst thing is pulling the plugs on the airboat and winching it back on the trailer now.

i lost 1/3 of my wooden fence and have enough branches in the fron yard to leave a vw beetle sized trash pile at the road and havent even started in the back yard yet but have to install a bunch of fence post to rehang the fence on due to all that fell broke off at the ground but otherwise portsaint john i have power and my shop in titusville has no damage but no power also the qwuick stop food mart beside my shop lost their wooden sign mounted to the front of the roof but had rotten wood. Y'all stay save and hopefully get everything in order to slide this weekend. And the boat sitting in the middle of the back yard on the trailer hooked to the truck beside the 22' mako hoked to the other truck never moved and have no damage
