Me too. Last year the closing ran right up to a couple weeks before we came down, but it is my understanding that the area where Mack's is was never effected by the closings

UPDATE******* I was thinking...what about an old fashion crawfish boil for the ride? Any interest? If so, I might make a trip in the ol gas sipper car down to LA just before the trip and pick up 60 lbs of crawfish. Whadda ya think?

Lookin into it now. The only drawback is time. I'm told that 3 days on ice and you'll lose about 8-10 lbs of them per 38 lb sack. It may be better if I can locate a supplier en route or locally just before leaving. I'll come up with something. Been wanting crawfish bad. lol

Well, looks like I'll be going out for surgery on the 6th of April. Supposed to be out of work 4-6 weeks. It's gonna put a damper on some things, but come hell or high water I'm gonna make it to the ride May 27th. Anyone know where we can get bulk crawfish in the Pembroke Pines area or anywhere along I-75 in mid or south Florida? I'd like to get 40-50 lbs or so for the cookout. If I can't locate them, I'll try to think of something else to do, but the big thing is having as many FL friends as possible at the ride. Can't wait to see y'all at Mack's

Well, surgery went as well as could be expected. The pain has been a little rough at times, but we're managing. Can't wait to get back home and back moving and on the water. I'm so looking forward to seeing everyone that can make it down at Mack's for the ride.

Tim glad your healing up and surgery went well. As far as the food goes I say what ever is easier. Whatever we have will be good and good company is more important anyway. What everyone should do is pray for rain. Look forward to your return.

2A is stupid dry. I imagine 3B can't be far behind. We better get some rain soon!

Hope so, Though it was dry all the way from the channel leading off the Levy on the first year we were there and I had a heck of a lot of fun. By the way, I found a seafood place in AL about 3 hrs away from me. It may be doable to get them on the way down.

For those that are planning to attend the ride that I set up for May 27th, I was wondering if everyone would be able to attend if it was changed to the following weekend (Sat, June 3). I have run into a few snags, and it may wind up being difficult to be down there by the 27th. For 1, surgery has caused some financial issues, and 2, it looks like my son may get to graduate this year and May 27th is graduation day. Currently looking into delaying my departure by 1 week if there isn't an issue changing those dates at work. Please let me know what you all think. Thanks

You need to be there for your son. We can always party later; events like that only happen once.

Congrats on your son's graduation.
No problem with June 3.

So far, nothing I can think of, Glades cat, although, on the day, sides will be welcome. I intend to provide the main dish for sure, which will be either bbq, or if I can get it worked out, 60 lbs of fresh, live crawfish to boil. Thanks for all the well-wishes. I'm certainly hoping Kieth graduates, but it is a toss-up at this point. If so, I will certainly be there when he walks. Trying to get the dates changed for my trip, so I will keep y'all posted and make any necessary arrangement with Mack's, etc
