1999 14' Pemberton

Post by qgator » Fri Feb 03, 2017 10:53 am

My buddy is going to look at 1999 Pemberton 14' Aluminum hull with an O540. Been looking around the web and on SA and can't find much information about them. Any one here familiar? We ride mostly 2A and Kissimmee Chain would this be a good hull for these areas?

Thanks

Pemberton is in Inverness, FL on SR41, about 3 or 4 miles south of town. I bought a boat from them once.
They had taken an older fiberglass hull, somehow re-certified it, added rigging they had laying around ( they have lots of them)
and put on a gpu and titled it in their name in the year it was put together. I doubt any part on the boat was
manufactured in the year stated on the title. I know this happens all the time with new hulls, but don't know if
others are doing it with used parts. What this does do for you is give you cheaper insurance because it is titled in a factory
name, not homemade. So it all comes down to condition of the boat. Take it out for a ride. Check the oil before and after.
Then decide if it works for you. Hope this helps.

They make a real nice mini called the Dragonfly that uses a small auto power plant. Beyond that, an old boat re-titled as new is something that I would personally avoid.

I've had a bad experience with them and I won't go back. If I were you I wouldn't waist your time..
