new hull and who to use

Postby Aeon » Mon Mar 06, 2017 4:57 pm

so the hull on the old hurricane is getting a bit tired. I live on the wrong coast out here in California so getting a hull is not as simple as it for most of you guys. Going to reuse all the mechanical parts on my current boat. my motor, reduction and prop are good to be transplanted in a new home.

The boat is pretty much just a hunting boat!

I have reached out to alumitech for a price. Are there any other hull builders that sell just the hull, stand, cage and seating so i can finish the rest the way i want to? who would you guys recommend. Texas would cut a big chunk of the haul but i am open to anyplace.

thanks for the help

Given where you are, the first logical choice to consider would be American Airboats in Orange, Texas.
Faron comes very highly recommended by many folks both here and elsewhere. It may or may not pan
out as the best option, but it is certainly is the first one I would exhaust while researching my options.

I copied this from a very old post, but would expect the number to be the same.

Hi Bill We talked a year or so ago. I am in Temecula and shipped out a Panther from Florida. Ron Kelly is in El Centro and had his built at American in Texas. There are also guys building in Utah, I think around Salt Lake City. They have an association I think "Utah Airboat" or like that. Good Luck . Pat Hardy

Yes the Utah Airboat Association would be a good group to talk with. Totally forget about those guys on the Salt. They have a Facebook page and here is their website http://www.utairboat.com/

American does not sell a hull only. They only do finished boats, something about a patent :(

Talked to widowmaker in Utah and nirbuilt in Nebraska. I'm still working on it

The Alaska crew get hulls from Alumitec maybe work something out thru Skip Olsen to meet up along his travel path and compensate him for hauling your hull....just a thought

Hammet builds and ships boats to AK all the time, don't see why they couldn't do the same to CA.

We, at Circle H Airboats, would be honored to talk to you about building your hull and anything else you need. We've recently shipped one to MI for cheaper than the customer could make the trip. Here's 3 ready to be picked up by a customer in Ft. Meyers tomorrow. Check out our Facebook page or give us a call at 334 247 7711. We answer the phone any time day or night.

Circle H Airboats is finishing up my new hull this week and I'm happy happy happy. Great work and super nice guys.
Made just the way I asked and quick also (less than 3 weeks). Highly recommend. Do call Kenny, his Dad (Rickey)and crew are great to work with.

Circle H Airboats is building our boat! Kenny is pretty cool guy and his effort in helping us get what we want built is nothing short of amazing.

Anyone want to haul a airboat from Alabama to California

Time to start a build thread.
