Just 3 weeks ago a few other guys and I were talking about the 4th of July and cussing and bragging , saying whose going to hand out some lessons
And then I said there will be no 4th in the glades if it doesn't start raining .
And everyone looked at me with a straight face and said no s***
Now it rained for 2 days and there's too much water ?
It was bone dry out there !

They didn't close it because of the high water. It was closed due to the amount of deer on the 3a north/holeylands levy.

They sell gator tags and then close the area. They used to allow airboats for frogging and gator hunting even during the "high water" closures. Last year was the first time they specifically excluded airboats. This is BULLSH*T! We pay almost $300 for tags and then they pull this crap.

If they have such a problem with high water, why don't they do their damn jobs and MANAGE it?

Makes it really hard to justify spending 20k +/- on a nice boat down here when you can only ride 6 to 8 months out of the year. Sold my last Benny Webb boat a year and a half ago and I'm in no rush to get another one at this rate. I think my next boat will have to be a beater that I don't mind letting sit; can't see investing too much money in something that's going to be on the trailer so much.

They are letting water in from the north, big time. The current was ripping down Lyle's Trail yesterday. Solid current running down my trail as well.

Just letting everyone know that if you go to the Corps of Engineers website, you can find out all the info you want about water depth, water flow through the various structures and even the amount of rain that has fallen in the areas. Right now, the S-8 pumps are pushing almost 3000 cfs of water into 3-A and the S-12 structures on the Trail are flowing almost 2000 cfs south. More water going in than coming out, and rain on top of that explains why the water is high. In fact it's 1.5 feet above regulation right now. And when we had all the rain two weeks ago, the pumps at Holiday Park ran full throttle to get all the water from the flooding in west Broward out of the area. Ask Lady Blackwater how fun that was in our neighborhood. Only the second time I have had water in my garage since the 90's.

3A is almost 22 1/2 inches to high and still risen, I wish they had someone smart enough to control this water bull sh-t but I know that's is to much to hope for.

looks like the pendulum is changing and the water is finally starting to drop, but its going to be quite a while still since we have to loose close to 2 feet of water maybe september

Can anyone tell me the location and site number of the gates that can't be opened until after July 15th?
