Never noticed his steering is backwards but in Florida, FWC may have issues with no flag?

Flags are not required in Georgia but I do have one for Florida when I go down there and the Steering is the same as any other boat, it was built by Diamondback and nothing is different than any other boat they build as far as the steering goes

Not at all, but I also don't turn right with a stick at my ankles or a cable hooked to the back side of my rudders?

Could be a reverse cam in the works somewhere but turning left in the pic from your knees, dictates all push. Snipe has 5 foot arms or that pic is of a rc?
If it works that's fine but the pic sure does dictate some people going the wrong way in a emergency situation on a normal boat!

Guess the pic is not clear? Sure looks like the cable steering is hooked up to the back side of the pivot point and rudders are turning left and stick is forward knee position, so is the stick back or forward in the pic?

Really doesn't matter except this is an official DOI training rig bought and maintained by ?

I have no dog in this fight but on my old 2003 diamondback hull & original riggin the cable is hooked up exactly the same way on back side of the rudders & works as it would on any other boat..

Just finished rebuilding a diamondback for a buddy and the steering is the same and it steers just like my alumitec.

If you would have read my above post it was built by Diamondback and there is nothing different about it from any other boat they build
as far as the steering goes but if you think what they do is wrong I suggest you take that up with them,as far as who Maintains it,I do and besides being a Law Enforcement officer, I have been an Aircraft mechanic for 40 years and I take as good a care of the boat as the Jet Aircraft I work on, It is a SAR boat so there is no margin for anything on the boat not being 100% as far as training goes I train people any Airboat , its what is in the course that Gary Hill wrote for the DOI that matters

Sniper that is a good looking rig you have there :usa: Thanks for doing what you do!
Prototype you do need to lighten up just a little buddy, Chill Bro. Some builders attach the cable behind the pivot point of the rudder and others attach it ahead of the pivot, some even put the steering at the top of the rudders. If the cable is attached to the rudder behind the pivot it must be attached below the pivot point on the stick.... push right pull left, if the pivot points are opposite the steering action will still be the same, I'm not sure why they do it different, one thing for sure I will be looking closer at the different steering systems on boats that I see in the future just out of curiosity, Who knows , I might even learn something.

My steering cable attaches on the front of the rudders up top.

I much prefer that, as my boat is used pretty much 100% in salt water.

Same rudder setup as on my Diamondback.

My boat steers as good as any I've every owned and haven't had a problem with it in 10 years.

Depends where the cable is attached to the rudder stick.
Below or above the fulcrum
