Could something like this be glasses over on the bottom or is it a wast of time?

If it's glass it can be repaired. The question is; is the hull worth what it will cost for the repair?

although this is a repair patch, it amazes me that some fiberglass boat builders don't take the effort to stretch and align the fiberglass properly. this is one big factor that makes fiberglass boats either give a solid ride or a flexible feel

if you DIY your fiberglass boat or do a repair, make sure the fibers are stretched and aligned :!:
