Leroy Knowles

Postby Waggs » Fri Dec 22, 2017 10:30 pm

Something ought to be posted here about his passing. The man was a champion for airboaters and sportsmen, as well as a great prop builder and revolutionized the airboat prop industry.

He was my Great Uncle, my father’s Uncle. So much to be said about him, so many stories to be told. Some meant to share, some not. A great and selfless man.

He was one of the originals... before all this pussyfoot talk about "what 19 blade prop to run on my 2700hp top fuel dragster motor", "Whats the best communication system", "Whats the best 24 inch touch screen display GPS". He ran Continentals, communicated with fingers, and navigated by memory, feel, and stars!

He encompasses the term Legend, certainly in the Florida airboat and sportsman world!!

Condolences to you and your family. It sucks that we are losing all these great men of the industry and lifestyle.

I wasn’t looking for pity, I just wanted to let people know.
Thank you all though.
