A..holes on air boats

What do you think about that title? well it's true. Here in Hernando, Citrus county, air boats have no respect or concern for any one! Going as fast as you can through people's back yards is cool? really. Are you still 6? Your going to ruin it for every one who owns an air boat. if there are houses on both sides of you slow it down to an idle. People have to live here and want to enjoy their property. 350 calls this weekend about air boat noise. How long do you think it will take to get some nice new laws in place to combat your ignorance... not very. You should all be ashamed of your self. And if this was a club event, your plain assholes. Drunk red neck assholes.

Pam Bondi's office would like to see air boats eliminated from most inland areas, for these very reasons. County Commissioners are poised to make changes to comply with the States Attorney.

So if you know these idiots be sure to thank them for all the new legislation and rules.

Oh I have seen more stray barbed wire out there than ever before. Also seen neighbors with bb guns at night. lol

Barbed wire and B.B. guns. That will hurt or kill someone.

Who are the A HOLEs now?

You shouldn’t fight stupidly with worse stupidity.

Oh yeah that'll get ya 20 years for manslaughter. Who would have the stones to get on an airboat forum and rip up all airboaters, oh I know, a rookie or nonairboater!

How about stating where you've seen the "stray barbed wire" before somebody gets killed.

Timiboy, YES there are some A holes that ride airboats, some that drive cars, some that shoot into public places, some that enter schools and the list goes on. As the worlds population grows so does the ahole count. But to get on here and stereotype people is down right hypocritical. Maybe all us southern people should go north, clog the roads, make turns without using the turning lanes, cut infront of every car in a line, blow our horns and show all the damn northerners the number one sign.
Now if you were a stand up person you would watch your property and when one of those instances you described happens, stop the persons and demand that they not trespass on your property. Then if it happens again call the law with their FL numbers and report that person! The waterfront edges, canals ect not posted for no wake may be traveled on a plane by a vessel. Jus because you own property on a lake doesn't mean u can control the water infront of your house! As for the barbwire and bb gun, both are felonies for any person to use in that manner. One of those airboaters might just have a conceal carry permit and decide to defend his life!!!

Sounds like Buttercup needs to suck it up.. I live behind the Iron Horse Saloon in Ormond Beach Florida.. there's a thing here called Bike Week.. and at the iron horse they have a thing called a burnout pit... We have two bike weeks which Encompass a total of 22 days a year that I have to hear this burnout pit. Basically motorcycles run wide ass open until the tire Burns off the rim...

But I love bikers and know the amount of money they bring to my town so I wouldn't bash them like you do the air boaters on the lake at Potts.... Actually maybe go out at the swimming hole and join them one day you might see they're a pretty good bunch of folks.. Or you can wait till your house floods you'll be happy to see one of us pull up and pull you off the roof

There's nothing wrong with a few guys whooping it up when they have a rodeo out in the middle of swamp... You only have 10 Post in the last 4 years I'm sure most of them are bitching and complaining..... I love the comments about the barbed wire and they're shooting of people that's real classy..

I have read this post a few time and decided I will post as well. I am hoping this is a (drunk) alcohol filled vent post cause in the other thread you expressed these same feelings let's not derail a actual good thread. You stated you are an air boater ( in the other thread ). Why not take this issue directly to the individuals and educate or get educated? To have others to be threatened injured or killed by STRAY BARBED WIRE and night time BB guns is BS and if true needs to be identified. I cannot imagine what would take place after someone, family member , friend whatever is seriously injured or killed by a malicious act by someone else who is pissed at a group of people that have every right to be there as you who live on the canals. Off my box now carry on.

My mom lives in Hernando on the Withlacoochee, all day long airboats go by not one has been rude or going to fast. it drives one of her dogs crazy but, she aint fitna blame anyone for it. Of course my mother has been around airboats since she was a little girl, she has never had a foul thing to say about the boaters. I do understand how some people would think the noise is horrible but whats going to happen if they do get rid of the airboats noone will ever see the real florida again. in dunnellon on the rainbow river it is not illegal to have an airboat but last year I got pulled over twice before i got a mile down, and if you ask me I would rather tube around airboats instead of 150 hp bass boats with 20 inch props. not to mention how much better the airboats are to the inviroment. I guess some people wont be happy until all the marsh becomes unaccessable and some rich guy buys it up and builds another disney world then you will only have to drive a quarter ile to go shopping because the whole state of florida has become the city. I say if you dont want people riding in the water where you live get some property and have a pond dug then you and only you can use it

I’m gonna go with the drunken rant theory on this one. To call out a whole group based on a few folks actions ain’t the way we do things down here. Lord knows I have shown my ass once or twice to be corrected by my peers and we all moved on.

:florida: So he joined in 2015 and has 10 posts. Not an airboater. Everyone I know that runs the salt marsh is respectful. Had some guys in group of four a couple months ago that weren’t. Probably from out of town. P.S. my family has been here since early 1800’s. If he doesn’t like airboats, gtf out...

That's one of the down falls of Social media it gives people the ability to run their mouth, it's easy when you are pushing keys different story when you are standing in front of a man. I'm sure we have all encountered these type of individuals before! And for all you 4-5 generation natives like myself the constant bitching about the way things are here is nothing new but amazingly they just KEEP COMING :florida:

As A Law Enforcement officer for 29 years I can tell you you got butt heads in every state in the union, certain states just seem to have more than others , my family has been in Palm Beach County since the 1870's and the family's business was started in 1893 so I'm very deep rooted in Fla history and the environment, I have no problem with Yankees or any one else for that matter as long as they don't come to the state wanting to change our way of life or want to impose their rules and regulations on us but if you don't like Southerners or our lifestyle then you probably need to find a different place to live , Airboats are as Iconic as the Alligator and very much a big part of Florida just like the Subway is to new York or the trolley car to San Francisco so don't judge the boat, like every other form of transportation its the operator that makes it good or bad, its the individual you need to deal with not the boat

Well said Sir! :thumbleft:

Dad’s family got here in 1831, and settled in what’s now Hernando County. Mom’s family got to what’s now Manatee County in the 1870’s.
