Old airboat magazine that Paul Dixon (RIP Paul) sent me years ago to scan & post. The whole magazine can be read here: http://southernairboat.com/pdf/5-74-magazine.pdf...or by clicking the image. It was acturally posted quite a few years back...just thought I'd bring it back for old times sake.

Rick thanks for posting!

On page 2 it appears every straight valve boat has a large cooling shroud!

Good stuff! :salute:

He's more trouble than you think, he'll kill your sugar, leave you in the drink.

Interesting history here for sure!

In 1974 the Parliament House hosted Drag Racers, just a few year later the Drag Queens took over.

Yep, didn't notice the shrouds until now Jeff. Never had one, but I hear they keep them cylinders cooler...especially the middle ones. You run a shroud on your aircraft engine?

That's funny (no pun intended) about the Parliament House lol. Being born & raised in south Orlando (waaayy south of the Parliament House) I picked up on the "Drag Queens" thing. Always steered clear of that area lol.

Rick I plan to have a larger shroud built for my AV540 once I get it back together. I am going from carb to fuel injection so hopefully this will help with cylinder head temps like slidin gator has referenced in his threads.
