cut outs or dumps

Postby johnnythunder » Fri Dec 02, 2011 6:22 pm

remember way back when you put cut outs or dumps on your exhaust if you where going to the track on the weekend, but drove the car to work during the week.if you put them on your airboat to ride but could also race, what do you think the fwc or game warden would say if you were stopped. :roll:or  or 8)

Nothing they can say as long as they are closed. I run straight headers with mufflers on the ends that shoot into the prop. Fwc around here actually really likes them.

Cutouts are specifically stated to be a violation if I remember right.

I loved the old days when we could run open stacks, but the last semi-legal time open stacks were run was When Bud Marquis led the procession out to the FLight 401 crash Site.

Today its about quiet not cutting fine lines.

As long as you have acceptable mufflers, exiting per the law...
Mod Edit: Rules Violation

Me too, Ptr34. Amazing day.

Like Whitebear said, if all you're interested in is just playing around with the regs. regarding mufflers, then you're more a part of the problem than the solution. Building a boat (or a gyrocopter) as quiet as you can is the objective. Damn that 'acceptable mufflers, per the law' crap.
