Jack Bylsma lost his son Jack Jr (Jake) to a tragic personal watercraft accident this weekend. Please remember him and his family in your prayers. Loosing a child is just not right. A child is the toughest lose a parent can have.

:( The FSCA lost one of its most valuable members yesterday in a personal watercraft accident. Jack & Tammy Bylsma lost their oldest child, Jack III (Jake). Please remember the Bylsma family in your prayers. He was 14 years young. Jack and his son were best friends, they always hunted and fished together. This one is close to home for all of us. Please mark your calendars for September 8th to give your respect to Jack III for everything he has done to make this world a better place for us to live in. He has touched many of our lives in more ways than one. We will never forget his happy-go-lucky smile.

Friends of the Bylsma family and members of the FSCA are putting together the cookout after the memorial on Saturday. The memorial will start at 11:00am at the Bylsma’s home. Then the cookout will follow at the Baptist Church around the corner.

We will be meeting at the church at 9:30am to start the coals on the grill. Please meet there and drop off your dish and/or cooler before the memorial.

So let's get together and make this happen. We are planning to cook hamburgers, hot dogs, pulled BBQ pork, fried gator & gator fritters, and drinks.

Airboat & Halftrack is donating their cooker with all charcoal for the day.
5 cases (140) Hamburgers & 2 cases (160) Hot Dogs, all condiments and buns (Big Ed’s)
There will fry cookers (Mark, Bishop, Kerry & Buck)
Pasta Salad (Maryanne)
Potato Salad (Shari)
Very Special Chicken Wings & Sauce (Kerry & Cameron)
Sweet-n-Sour Meatballs (Caroll)
Alligator Meat (Bishop & Brian & Mike Prince) need more
Pulled BBQ Pork (McWatters & Woody)
Dirty Rice (Bishop)
Cherry Dump Cake (Brian)
Maharrey (Desert & Baked Beans)
Albertz (Desert)

The members of the church have donated items also, such as casserole’s, green beans and corn, and 2 hams. They have iced tea dispensers (we have to bring the tea), there is an ice machine for drinks if needed.

Below are items that we are asking each person to bring:
A cooler with 12 waters and 12 sodas (any kind) with ice
A side dish or appetizer or dessert

Mark your calendars for now look in your freezer to see what you can bring. Please forward this information to others who might be interested in helping.

Update on the celebration of Jack's life, the ceremony will start at 11 a.m. on Saturday September 8 at the Bylsma house: Buckhead Ridge 73 Palm St, Okeechobee, FL 34974 and the BuckHead Ridge Baptist Church address is 8 Cypress Street, Okee FL 34974 (but the church is not on Cypress, this is the address of the pastor across the street, the church is actually on Hunter Street. When you turn off of 78 to 14th street it turns into Hunter so you will see the church) you can MapQuest for directions to the Bylsma and pastors house and see both.

In Lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to:
FFA of Okeechobee, 1401 SW 37th Avenue, Okeechobee FL 34974
