Panther Problems

Post by Wacahoota » Wed Dec 03, 2014 9:15 pm

I have a panther that frequently visits my back yard. Wouldn't be a huge deal except that it seems to be stalkin my kids playset and the house. I've tried spreading various things around my acreage at the suggestion of the feed store in town, including dried and shredded datil peppers. Nothing works. Friggin cats keep coming back. Almost for certain they're hunting pigs.

Anyone know if the state will trap the damn things?

It's hard to get the state to do anything about these, but I would least report it in case you have to take matters into your own hands. PROTECT YOUR FAMILY AT ALL COSTS!! I would have a shovel next to my gun....

Called the FWC when they first started showing up last year and they told me I was crazy and that I wasn't seeing panthers. I told them I'd shoot one next time it came in my yard to prove it and they admitted they had cats in the area they were "monitoring" and to not shoot them. So they definitely know they are there.

Just surprised none of the state trappers move them? Seems there'd be money in it.

I just looked you up: Tallahassee. Guess they are all over now. When are they going to open a season? One stalking my kids playset is one too many.

Take that collar to a school playground where are lots of kids playing and toss it in over the fence. Somebody will get the message.
