We made it over friday to fish a few hours before dark, went south trout were biting everything that hit the water. We kept a few 17-18". Sat morning was cool on the ride out, lol. The tide was already low and never really came in up north. It was a very low water day and made it kind of nasty moving around but we finally found a hole with a bunch a fish and my brother had a blast. kept a 24" and 26.5". Also caught a nice 22" flounder.

Nice Red, btw. I hope to be back and fish friday and sat. Both days are negative tides can't wait.

Whacked them pretty hard this morning. Caught over 60 with 12 slots and several break offs. Going again in the morning. Catching them in most of our “winter” spots.

Did better today on total numbers. Caught over 80 today but only 10 slots. They were about everywhere we tried. Going to leave it to the masses the next couple of days. Should be good low tides in the morning for a few days. Good luck to those that go.

Way to go bar hopper some excellent fishing. I have been purposely staying a bit further outside with the warmer water temps and the fishing has been pretty great. Tons of rat reds just came inshore on this moon along with some smaller slots. The gator trout are swarming on the yellow bottom, kelp and rocks on high water. Been having a blast with artificial catching them till you have had your share. As the water temps continue to get lower I will start pushing further back inside but for now fishing is great around creek mouths and outside still.

We fished a few days caught our limit in top slot reds each day and out limit in trout one day. Most of the trout were over 17" with 2 over 20".

Tide was low and different the I expected due to wind.

Went this afternoon with a fellow SA member Vince. Had a really good day. Water temperature is a lot lower than last weekend. Fish are in the creeks. New moon next weekend. Can’t wait.

Went back this morning. Not as low as yesterday. Not as many quality fish but caught fish at every stop. You can catch cobbs until you’re tired of it. Gonna lay out until middle of next week and see what the afternoon tides bring. Good Luck to those that go.

Glad y’all been on them and enjoying the great fishing right now. We are blessed to have such an amazing fishery. I also did a few trips last week one in backcountry fishing the holes and caught around30 reds mostly smaller reds with about 10 nice slots and an overslot. Then popped out front and caught all the big trout we could handle. I Spent my other trips last week hitting big snook and tarpon. On one trip with me last week my buddy Socrates caugh a nice tagged snook by the FWC. First tagged snook I have ever had an angler catch. The cooler weather has pushed all snook and tarpon into warmer water areas making them easy targets. The bite has been great and is about as good as it gets right now, get out there and enjoy.

Had a good day with the wife Saturday. Caught about 20-25 fish total. Spent 2 hrs at the first stop,3hrs total. Had a good time, took these home. Wouldn’t have kept the trout or flounder, but she says she’s sick of eating redfish.

I wonder if fish taste different over there? I wouldn’t have kept the redfish if I had flounder and trout!

Not as good yesterday. No trouble catching fish. Trout bite was better for where I fish. Wednesday was the day to go,I believe, but obligations kept me home. Maybe the weather will clear up on Saturday.

Glad to see everyone is still catching them. I went to yankeetown Saturday and went to about four different creeks and fished hard and caught hardly any reds. Maybe five total all underslot, did blow out lots of bigger reds but they had lockjaw. Bounced out front and caught so many big trout my wrist started bothering me. Went Sunday to a different area due to the slow bite for reds on Saturday. Great decision, we caught mid to upper slot fish all day Sunday and had a blast and didn’t see another boat all day. Really enjoyed two full days of fishing the backcountry and got my fix until Christmas break. Hope y’all have a Merry Christmas and fantastic holiday season. God Bless

How did the water look? After all that rain I figured that water would be running out of the woods for a bit. Hope it’s straightened out by the end of week.

Water was stained in the creeks, looked fairly tannin or tea colored but somewhat clear. When we bounced outside to look for trout the water in the gulf was super clear and beautiful.

Thanks for the reply. I thought it would have dirty’d up after the rains.

We went on Sunday, absolutely beautiful day super low tide, That's where it stopped, haha. We fished all our normal spots and only caught 7 fish! There's tons of fresh water pouring out of the woods and we do fish near the Suwannee so that just compounds the issue. This has been a unusual winter so far, regardless I hope everyone has a great X mas!!!!

I also went yesterday. Had the opposite of Andy. Caught fish all day. 10 slots and lots of cobbs. Stay just north of HWY 40. Didn’t venture way back in any creeks. I thought the same as he found, lots of freshwater after the two big rains. Good luck to those that go and Merry Christmas to everyone!

Went out today. Tide never really came in. Had to abuse the boat a little bit. Caught a lot of shorts and 3 in the slot. Nothing crazy. Brought home a 21&22”. Looking froward to next time.

We fished Sat. Our fishing has really slowed. We only caught 2 keeper trout, no shorts and a few reds. When we got bait we actually caught a bunch of pins so that says the water has warmed up quit a bit. Hopefully cooler weather and less rain and things will get back to the norm!!!!
