All of orange lake is alachua county....even if you put in on Marion side, once you hit water you are in alachua county. Alachua county ordinance-no Airboats 7p-7a

doesnt seem legal to me for an Alachua co. officer to wait for you on the Marion Co. sidde when you get back to the ramp.... Other than that, just have to have a fastere boat the the Alachua Co. dude.

ive talked to fish and game. Alachua county cops cant come to marion county and harass you. if you put in at Heagy-Burry Boat Ramp, they cant do anything. been gator hunting the last four years there.

The islands are floating vegetation. Getting up on them is easy, but if you stop you will need a crane to get off.

Also pay attention to wind direction. Those floating islands (some call them tussets, some tussocks) will block a boat ramp. Winds from the northeast can block Haegy Burry ramp.
