How do you connect an electric tach to the magnetos ? IO-520

I was told you could connect it to the mags??

Doesn't it depend on what type electric tack. Some have a wire that just wraps around one of the plug wires but I'm guessing yours is probably one of the more expensive ones .

I haven't bought a tach yet. Still deciding on Mech. Or elect. I don't have a drive on my 520. Just a block off plate

Try a cheap tach that will switch to 6 cylinder mode, i ran one on a gso-540 at the straight mag lead and it worked fine.
I never finish anyth,,,.
