This sounds like my inlaws 220 hold at wot and gets slower and starts popping back off a bit and runs great He said something in the lines of not having a manuel fuel pump hooked up he said it was starving for fuel.
dont worry someone will chime in with an answer....

I would check your fuel pressure at wot. Put one where you can see it. See if it get real low or zero. If it does check your fuel pump screen, water seperator and inline filter for clogging. If your fuel pressure is good. I would check your carb make sure it not clogged on the inlet. I had a bubble bee in the inlet of my carb, it was driving me nuts trying to figuered it out. Try this first and let us know if that solves it or not. There are other things to look for but this is good place to start.

Also you could check the intake rubbers make sure their not cracked or lose. Ive heard others haveing this problem causing it to lean out which makes the popping. Hey atleast its easy to check.
