Another fuel pump question

Post by Walker77 » Sun May 02, 2010 8:17 pm

Im sure you guys get tired of answering the same questions over and over, but i did a search and didnt find the answer i was looking for...... IO-470-13...I want to put on an electric fuel pump so i dont have to get out of the seat and pump the squeeze ball everytime i start up. Leaving the pumpball in and the electric pump will be used to just start the boat and ill shut it off when it fires up. Was just gonna put it inline after the squeeze ball, no problem with this? My question is, do i need to get a certain kind/type of pump, Or just pick one up from discount... Thanks

Paul dixon puts a great electric pump on his boats, last forever, wish I could tell you what it is but no name on mine anywhere, call Dixon airboats and get one. Let me know what it is if I ever need one I would like to know. I never got mush life from the napa pumps.

WALKER,I USE A CARTER TO START MY BOAT AND THEN SHUT IT OFF AND RUN OFF THE CONT INJECTION PUMP.YOU NEED TO PUT A TEE BEFORE AND AFTER THE PUMP AND PUT YOUR SQUEEZE BALL INBETWEEN THEM.YOUR INJECTION PUMP WILL NOT PULL FUEL THROUGH THE ELECTRIC PUMP.I HAVE A PIC IN MY GALLERY OF WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE.

Does anybody have trouble starting a fuel injected motor when its hot? If so what is a common procedure?
