which motor to go with 0540 or gso480

looking for some input, im about to get a new motor and cant deside if i should go with a 0540 or a gso480, which is better,for long runs,better power, and parts to come by if something blows/breaks..

A wise man once told me that 0-540 are pretty dang reliable and easy to keep tuned, loved mine..... A 480 (when running right) is nice, but are finickey as heck motors... They are sticky motors, meaning real touchy.. Might wanna call some guys on here that run them.. Have a friend that has one and he said when running right, there great, but are a biotch to get them there and keep them there.. A GSO480 makes some real nice power.. Look at the props they swing..

NO PERSONAL EXPERIENCE, just what some friends that have them say.. I was wanting a GSO 480 so I was inquiring last year...

540 they burn less fuel and if assembled right with good parts and you maintain it they will last for years

Why not a go480, then you dont have to worry about the supercharger, good motors.
Still turn big prop and alot of push.

X3 540 BUILD IT RIGHT ONCE AND YOU WILL HAVE MANY YEARS OF GOOD SERVICE OUT OF ONE. I HEAR THE 480'S ARE GETTING HARDER TO FIND PARTS FOR.

0540 is the way to go the one i have sits outside in the weather for months and never has a problem starting. The one i have runs cool never over 180 in the summer, and with the right prop a 540 will go anywhere.
