O-290-G Flange

I am looking any information on flange strengthening of an O-290-G. Any info. Would be appreciated

If the bend is on the flange only,you can take a pipe wrench and a piece of pipe and probably straighten that way. I would weld a backup flange on the rear of flange, being it is thin.

The flange is straight.What does the back up flange look like? I assume two half circles?

you are right its two half circles that are cut to fit then tig welded, before you weld make sure to bolt the flange to something thick an flat to minimize warping. tig it up the machine it back flat. and bore youre holes for dowels only.

for that part of the flange you can use a standard steel tig rod. i would not try to mig weld it. if you putting a new flange on it take a special rod. but just adding a stiffiner you can use regular rod.
