What is the best way to connect the cooling shroud to the motor so it doesn't come off without wanting to take it off???

Cuz if the shroud gets loose or comes off I foresee shrapnel flying everywhere like a grenade went off..

Gee, is that your rear running light right near your mag? FWC would get a real kick out of that, not raggin' ya by any means, but I can see em' swormin' upon you down here.....

I personally have a 4" band of flexible leds wrapped around my vertical support on my cage, and they frown upon that, but it's legal, it's just that if they see something they haven't seen before, they think auotmatic ticket$$$$$$, lmao

Made a template out of door skin. then laid it flat on the sheet metal and traced it then bent it. Work great.

Here's mine.
Full view. The back is open and bigger to allow the prop to pull more air through the shroud.

Here's the side view with the pieces that come down between the jugs that i was talking about.
Image
This is the front side of the motor. It is inclosed all the way across the front of the motor (with cutouts only to fit the hoses needed like for the oil cooler and fuel)

yeah, it sits plenty high enough when the shroud isnt on and I havent been hassled about it yet, but thats a good observation. I didnt even think about it after I installed the shroud.

I built my shroud today. Found a metal works place in town and showed them what I needed and he made exactly what I was wanting... I got it all pop riveted together and it turned out very nice looking. Now I'm just doing the hassle work of doing cut outs where it will sit good on the motor and fit down on it. It's kinda hard without the right tools but it coming along.

Here's one of mine at Lake O. I got my shroud from Heat extractor and I think it works great. I did polish it out before mounting just to make it look better. Sorry about the link I forgot how to properly post the pic.

Thanks Gyro i appreciate that. Good luck on your shroud. If you want to polish yours get some Purple polish. A couple of guys on here sell it and so does Boat Owners warehouse. I got mine there and it was about $13.00 a bottle. Make sure to get some of the deoxidizer( about the same price) w/ it. I makes the process go much faster!
