sv -vs- the av 540

how much difference in performance is their !! both on same hull 14 ftx8 with poly
carbed

Sv are lycomings way for poor people to own an airplane there the cheap low power end of lycoming besides they look like ass next to an av the bigger head handles heat better more power

260hp vs 300 hp? Not positive on that but I can tell you that I LOVE my AV

It is all about weight over horsepower the angle will weigh more , but the horsepower is greater. The 300 will always out do the 260 a few modifications to the parallel valve it can perform a little closer to the 300 but the heads won't last as long.( long reach / short reach) it makes a difference.

continentals , will keep the back of your boat from rusting , and good and lubricated,but oil aint cheap no more.

they do that so other continentals wont get stuck 50w slick bottom you need something to make up for the lack of hp

ol yea if i dident already own one id buy one :lol: great motors cheap and reliable i want to try the 540 then to be honest ill be done with airboating for a while i have some big contracts coming up and i wont have no time for a boat thats why i listed my new boat 4 sale ... the work load is heavy so that means i wont be on the river for a while after march

Ok were going to have to settle this once and for all im coming to the lake the 16 with a tow strap and were going to have to hook em up my io520 vs all av lycowantabeacontinentals thats right airboat tug a war comeonnnnnnnn!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes they are pretty popular here in florida. I am from that area and trust me they dont do good in the heat during the summers there they will run hot. That why you probably dont see them there.

You can type it you can think it do what you want but when its all said and done an av will out perform anything else isalways worth more looks nicer and tougher stk vs stk it has no equal 180 and 260 are cheaper vs of the real deal
