GO480 opinions

Post by REAL 7.3 » Sun Jun 22, 2014 11:19 am

Well I'm fixing to start my new build. I'm leaning towards a 13' Big O hull with possibly a GO480. This will be a family boat but also see a lot of dry running. Just looking for opinions from people that run or have run these motors or know someone that does.

guy I ride with has a GO-480.....good engine, makes great power..not as much as the GSO-480 of course but still a damn good dependable engine...his had the gear box removed so maybe someone else can chime in who has the gear box still hooked up on a GO-480....but even without the box it is an excellent engine with a dry sump and a MA-4-5 carb really does a nice job on his lazer hull....good on the hill and in the water!!!

Thanks for the info guys. I think that's the way I'm gonna go. I've heard they are also decent on fuel.
