I have to ask why would you want to have a splined shaft instead of a flanged shaft?
There must be more to the story.

One reason is to get past the aircraft starter. Is it possible? I have an ESeries front with mags. I have a 520 with no starter or mags and the front is damaged.

If the front is damaged and expensive maybe a chice would be to get it welded up? It's cheap and very strong.

I have a 470/540 conversion ( just the motor) and it needs a front. And I have an 0520 front piece. Just trying to figure out if it would work or do I need a new 470 front. Now I know. Thanks!
