Need help identifying

Post by rebel2wolf » Sun Jun 05, 2016 8:53 am

I need to replace a cylinder on my boat, but am not sure which one it is. I was told that the motor was a Lycoming 170 when I bought it, but that is all I know. Any help would be great. :rebel: :rebel:

I've gotten 480 cylinders from Gary and he is great to work with. He is located in near plant city/lakeland. I've picked up parts at his shop and also had them shipped COD.

out of curiousity... how do you know you need to replace a cylinder but don't know which one? Also is it common to run hose for the oil return lines? A couple of my original aluminum ones leak a little and im curious if theres any reason not to just replace with hose :dontknow:

I know which cylinder, just wasnt sure what cylinders I had on the motor. I didn't think the 480's were angle valve. My jugs are angle valve.

480's are angle valve. Gary had me send him a pic of the cylinder because i guess there are two types with a small difference.
