Are you looking for a pic of the aluminum plate between the cyl and case?

If it's a case that used cyl. hold down plates the studs will be long enough, because you don't use hold down plates. The cyls. will have to be cut on the barrel so the cyl nuts sit flat on the cyl. flange, I can't of what that cut is called. Some 480 cyl. are cut some are not. Some use PE 150 shroud tubes, myself I use Lyc. A/V tubes don't know the part # 540 AV tubes are too long, 480's too short but some are just rite, you'll have to dig through your parts.

Twister, When this had been here two or three days and you had no response to your request, I searched diligently to try and find you that picture because I swear I remember seeing one and it would've had to have been here. :dontknow:

Anyway I was not able to find one and I can assure you it wasn't for lack of trying. You have been a big help to many others in addition to myself. I was hoping to find said picture for a little payback, but alas, it was not meant to be. If I do find one, you'll be the first to know.

Deano I was thinking the same thing. I may have been thrown off by bobby jr's short jug 540 pics in his gallery.

Justin post the photos so we can check the setup out, or explain what each setup will do. (spacer or short jug 540)

I don't know if you can see it in this old plate picture, but the inside of plates should have bevel cut just like case and cylinder for Orings to make the seal
