Was wondering since I'm goin in was thinking about new 10:1 or 12:1 what are your guys suggestions. its is a stock av 200 with updraft 4-5 carb now and any recommendations for possible cam?? but don't know which one ive read 290 grind but hey idk that's why I'm asking. is it worth me to do all this and if so what kinda numbers do you think ill see after also since ill have cylinders off should I bore or no theres nothing wrong with it just tearing down to paint and go through

If that is a 0-200 very much like the pe-90 then my opinion is get some large cylinders I have seen the pe90 with 470 cylinders kick butt.

What the heck is an av 200?

Is that an angle valve IO/O/360?

A lot of folks assume that because it has angle valves and is 360 CID means it develops 200 hp. Many only develop 180 hp and a couple, less. That being said, 10:1 pistons work just fine but you need to run av gas. Jr. Jurnigan can get an experimental Lycoming grind cam that along with the pistons should bump the hp to around 220, but they're pricey.

thx for the replys guys gary ill prolly call you tomorrow sometime. it is an angle valve 0360 with a ma4-5 so that makes it around 190 hp now just want to get a lil more out of it that's all nothing crazy so ill prolly go with the 290 grind cam and 10:5 - 1 pistons if I can get a good deal and I guess ill have to change the main jet in carb as well but well see

if your carb is an MA-4-5 off an 0-360/180hp a really good main nozzle change for the AV 200 is the 47-725 from the 210hp franklin carb
