Running with low oil pressure question

If you have a strong running A/V 540, but only fun at 40-50 psi of oil pressure due to the oil lines being the wrong size. Could this damage the motor?

what oil lines are the wrong size....sounds like ya need a new pressure spring or a couple of shims behind the old one....40-50 at operating temp is a bit low for the 540 but not way low

Would running at that pressure be bad for the engine?

guess the question is.....why would ya want to even take a chance if you could fix the problem with a washer or a $40 spring and take 2 minutes to put em in

If the oil lines are after the sensor in the oil plumbing of the engine then you are only restricting cooling effectiveness of the cooler with smaller lines and increasing the flow to the cooler with larger lines but not gonna effect the engine oil pressure if I am wrong please correct me but if your reading low pressure you need to address no matter what because you are starving the vitals of adequate lubrication and cooling. Larger oil lines to the cooler just increases oil capacity and helps with cooling

Lycoming overhaul manual says normal at operating temp 75-85 at cruise...... 25 at idle on all their engines
