hello, I'm so happy to find this group. my next build is going to be powered by a 1930s era kinner 5 cylinder radial 100hp. I have the complete engine that was re built and crated back in the 80s. does anyone here have any experience with a radial powered airboat? right now I'm in the collecting phase for the project. I live in Wilmington NC. but will be buying a house this summer, my apartment complex will not allow boats to be parked here. and will not allow work to be done either.

thanks in advance
pete...

Not enough horsepower to do anything with.

I don't have pics of the motor I'm in north Carolina, and the motor is still in new Hampshire. I know about the search function just wanted to know if anyone was currently doing anything with radials not 5yrs ago. how is 100hp not enough? I built an airboat with a 65hp power plant. and did it great.

The Kenner weights 250 lbs. it would look cool but not to practical.

didn't realize it weighed that much. I guess the size of the boat able to handle the weight of everything and a passenger or two it would be a bit of a dog.

Price would depend on who overhauled it, complete log books, how it was stored/pickled and what accessaries are with it. Also what model. I'm thinking it cost around $15-18k to overhaul to A/C standards. There is a guy named Al Ball in California that is the go to/guru on those. Might lookup Ryan aircraft group since they use them
