Seriously? Just got rid of 2 pallets of gear nosed 435 sh!t for the price of a 320. On the other hand, 540 gear boxes don't come cheap. Either way, hope you ain't planning on gearing that 520, that's one huge lobster hole that I have seen end in a mean Moray :bom:

Just thinking about something like that. I have a 470 run out that I can use as a test mule. I also have a Roush supercharger in need of a project. I have a wife and 3 daughters, if I don't come up with a new project every weekend I will end up at the mall!

Why would you go to the mall? I used to get in trouble for spending too much time working on my sh%ft, I complained that I was getting in trouble for staying home, WTF I used to get in trouble when I was away from home? Eventually my wife figured it out and one time I heard her tell my daughter that dad is gonna do what dad is gonna do. If you want to hang with dad, you gotta do what dad is gonna do.

You can come over and work on my stuff anytime you want, you can start with all the buggy distributors I need to get working for next hunt season.

I will cut to the bottom of the lobster hole, cooling is the problem. Gear it down and it will throw a lot of prop, run lower RPM and run ground like a bulldozer. The problem is that the bigger prop pulls the air from a bigger diameter, so less air over the motor. Look at the shrouds the GSO guys run as a start, but I'm not convinced that's enough. I do know that the shroud I just modified for my motor was not enough for a past 540 with 1.3 worth of gear.

Talk to Abner for a geared 540 if you are dead set.

Just testing the waters. Actually I would need a 435 or 480 gearbox. I know the 540 has the mag drives on it.
