Break in oil

Getting ready to crank up a GSO540 that has had the cylinders re-done Didn't do anything to the bottom end except look it over and everything there(bearings and cam) looked good. I believe I should use the mineral oil for break in. Does anyone know if Phillips makes a mineral oil or are all of their 50wt. products AD oils. I went to their website and all of the straight weight oils look as if they AD oils. I'll use AeroShell if I have to but damn they are proud of it.

All I have ever found from Phillips is Ashless Dispersant (AD). It's Aeroshell 100 Mineral oil on my cylinder break ins.

$75/case, fill her up and move on.

Sliden Gator where are you finding it for 75 a case ? Local NAPA has it for 100 around around here.

Just me personally if I just dropped a bunch of money in a motor what’s an extra $100 on the right oil

My local NAPA only has 100W. I have bought at the airport, Fast Break in Okeechobee and elsewhere. The price does vary for sure.

$75 was just off the cuff. Here is one option at $79 per case plus shipping:

Thanks for the reply Slidin. Went to the local Dist. today and picked some up. Hope to spin it over this weekend and then off to the Ignition guy.
