Continental 520

Post by CJM » Wed Jan 08, 2020 6:15 pm

Hey everyone. Has anyone ever seen ball valves on the bottom of the oil sump of a 520 and the oil cooler? Looking at a boat that has this and never seen one set up this way.

It sounds like someone changed their oil on a regular basis and liked to keep it simple to me, he even drains the cooler.

I prefer a plug. And I always pull cooler off and drain it.

Thanks that makes sense. What is the typical oil change interval on these? 100 hours?

Every 50 hours, some do every 25.
