400 sbc

Postby RickMc » Mon Apr 30, 2018 9:51 pm

Hey guys , A friend of mine is looking at a boat tomorrow. Its a 400 cid. small block Chevy and a 3 blade prop. Other than general condition are there any other BIG flags we should be looking for on a DD small block . It looks like fun but I don't want him to buy a money pit . I don't want to let him ruin his first air boat experience. Thanks Rick
The glass is always half full....til I get a hold of it

Leakdown test 1st, then I would definately suggest a water test. 1 to get it up to temp under load so you can see the water temp and oil pressure, and 2, to see how it rides. Nothing worse than to shell out your hard earned $$$ only to find it bucks like a bronco, and/or leaks. Is it an open hull?
