What does a motor weigh?

Post by SWAMP SHAKER » Sat Mar 26, 2011 12:59 pm

I'm hoping somebody can tell me how much a SBC weighs. It's a 383 completely dressed... Carb, dist. pulleys, ect. Everything but headers. Thanks in advance!

If its all iron id say between 500-600 lbs. Minus somewhere around 80 pounds if you have aluminum heads.

Aluminum heads, iron block. So approx. 500 lbs? Probably gonna need more than two people to get it in the truck!!!

with any type of reduction, your looking at an 'easy' 600 pounds.
