Re: 383 question .
Sounds more like a cooling issue. The fuel mixture or timing, would not cause it to happen on one side of the motor. Sounds like a coolant flow issue.

Re: 383 question .
Semperfi77, are you talking about cylinder head temp, or exhaust gas temp?
In theory, both sides of the block get equal water flow from the water pump.
It goes up through the heads, into the crossover in the front of the intake,
past the thermostat, and out to the radiator. Do you have a thermostat?
Did you use the 'restricters' in the intake gasket water passage position?

Re: 383 question .
Maybe do a compression test and see if it's off you may have to adjust a lifter or two. I have seen that before.

If you have a blockage in the block, it will isolate one side of the engine.gyrocopter582 wrote:Semperfi77, are you talking about cylinder head temp, or exhaust gas temp?

Re: 383 question .
It hard to get all the dead cylinders to be on the same side of the motor. Remember he said it was one side, and not one cylinder.JAMES wrote:dead cylinders will do it as well
