What would ba a good set up for 400 sbcwith a 144 supercharger for dd use flat or dish piston rv cam or biger big heads or stock with 194 valves and 2 bbl or 4 bbl I think this is going to be my route some body out there has already done this im sure thanks

I don't think you need big high flowing head for DD even with a supercharger, I may be wrong. However, piston and head matching are always important things to consider. I think if you stay at 9:1 and below on compression you should fare just fine. I was going to pursue this route at one time. Hopefully, someone who has done it before will chime in.

Smaller valve and runner heads, stock aluminum intake, rv cam, 450 Holley. You will need to calculate the best comp ratio for the supercharger.

john in a lot of your posts i see you recomd the 450 holly. have you ever ran one yourself? i have 14 rivermaster with rod boxes and small block chevy. 72 inch ww narrow set on 14. 600 eldo will snap to 3000 and get you out of trouble a lot faster than 450 holly. i have ran both.

Yes, snapped a 72/40 to 3000 hard. Plus the water walker stump puller has the same pitch in it that is now on a 520.

He recommends it because it is a good versatile carb, most people over carb
Just about everything anyway IMO. :fishing :D
