6.2L 14x8 Mamba

Post by Andrw7264 »

Well I picked up my engine from Dave earlier this week. My hull should be done in the next couple weeks, then it will be time to rig it out. Im going with a 4 seater hunt/ride boat with stainless rigging, 2.68 Rotator, and a Sensenich three blade 80" R. I figured I would make a post for anyone interested in following the build. Im sure Ill have some questions for yall along the way.

Where is the best place to buy seat shells? I'm looking to get 4 singles. Also, what is the best route to get sea dek?

Not sure where you are located but I got my shells from Butt Raxx when they made my cushions and rain covers. Real nice shells with a good finish just scuff and paint. There is a place in Cocoa that will measure and Install Sea Dek called Castaway Customs, they have a website where you can get all their info

Thanks Dirtman. I am in Mims, so it's not far from me at all. I'll get in touch with Buttraxx and Castaway.

Starting to look for some electronics. I'm thinking about putting a GPS in the instrument panel. Anyone have any info about an "in dash" GPS? I don't need anything crazy, just looking for something to help when riding in unfamiliar places. Also need to get some kind of head unit for the stereo. Ive been seeing a lot of those small round marine units on boats. Is that the way to go and if so, any preference on brand?

Buy the right GPS and it will also take care of your stereo needs.

Put polymer on today. Everything is about ready for paint and powder coat. Then it'll finally be time for final assembly.
