I run a Holley double pumper 750. I run a air to fuel gauge. Which let me rejet for the best performance for me. I run a little rich. But running lean isn't good. I run an 82" 3 blade R set past the 3 mark and turn 5400 at WOT. And my timing is set for 32 wot too.

A great combo for you is buy the Holley 700CFM DP PN# 41778C they come with a 50cc pump on the 2nd dairies which you need one but on the primaries. So you then move the 50cc pump to the primaries. Swamping accelerator pumps and change the primary discharge nozzle to a larger .035 or .037 tube style. Be sure to also swap out the pump cams. This combo works on 99% of all small blocks sometimes you need to change a power valve to get it perfect but this combo works really well. Done this in all honesty a 100 times and the customer always says their throttle response is drastically improved.

I run 750 AED carbs on almost all my 383 engines and have never had a problem.
