I prefer to pick every component and specification rather than have someone hand me what they think I want.

Not every component is equal especially with aluminum heads and pistons!

No matter which way I went I wouldn't mind a builder just hand me something I've been doing this way too long I know it works so obviously I would tell them what I want I'm really considering a mas383 just really don't want to spend that much money I'll call Keith tomorrow see what I can do

Probably around $6,500 on the MAS but a really good engine.

Last I checked they used Edelbrock heads, forged internals and had a 2 year warranty!

To me that's the way to go, be little over budget up front but well worth it James

5 grand is not getting you a dependable 425hp engine built right. What you'll get are shortcuts to produce the power to make you happy. MAS a great engine if you spend 11 grand. Just being honest.

I've had seven quotes they've all been in that ballpark Other than mas which is 6500 do remember these motors are not dressed out there long blocks . If you're paying 11,000 for a 383 some 1 stuck it up your azz

Def can get a great performance motor built for $6500 ball park.
We have one coming from MAS right now. 383 stroker. We cant build one locally WITH a 2 year warranty for that. Great deal on a purpose built airboat motor.

This is correct. MY shop has purchased multiple 383 and 427 engine packages from MAS. Including engine parts to upgrade customer existing engines. We have built several racing LS engines this year using MAS rec parts wth great results..
