I don't know for sure if the 90mm throttle body will work on the truck intake. You need to ask the manufacturer. Most everybody is using the car intakes.

Why don't you want a high lift cam? There are a ton of high lift cams in the marsh doing just fine. WT, MAST, TKE, etc. are all using high lift cams on their 550 HSP and up motors.

Also why not spin the motor up to 5500 RPMs? There is a substantial amount of additional thrust made from 5000 to 5500. If you need more thrust, this is one of the easiest ways to get it. I am not saying you need to make lots of torque above 5000, but I am saying you need the HSP to carry to at least 5500 to 5600. Ultimately HSP is what determines how much prop you spin. Not torque.

Ok, the plan is to put a cam in there (waiting on some cam specs) and going to pull the heads and have them ported along with new lifters, pushrods and anything else needed for the cam upgrade. Going to get rid of the VVT. Then a new tune and see what that does for the power. At least I have a plan so I can get started on this thing, I want to be ready by spring.

Sounds like a plan. Keep us posted. You also might want to consider an AFM delete kit. Not sure if you have done this already, but you don't want the AFM on an airboat. Here is a link to an AFM delete kit:

This kit has a lot of the parts you are going to need such as lifters, head gaskets, etc.

I got the cage off today and I'll try and get the heads off next weekend. Not much but it's a start!

Don't go too high of a lift with your cam . I have an extremely high lift , and you lose the ability of slowly idling up on fish / frogs etc. my boat actually rocks side to side . Trying to gig Talapia , they will feel it and leave before they are in range.

What would you recommend on the lift?

If I had a LS motor I'd make a call to WaterThunder. He would know a lot more than me.
