BRLCLA Thanks for the offer and the link. If you get a chance send me a few pics of the mounts I may take you up on that offer. I was looking at the Dorman AC delete pulleys and was considering doing something similar. I found a few that looked like they could be made to work with a little effort.

I also looked at rotating the tensioner clockwise about 150 degrees. That could be done but would have required grinding some clearance off the housing where it was closest to the harmonic balancer and drilling one dowel hole in the boss that the tensioner mounts to.

However, the simplest option was to pick up some 125mm bolts and double nut them to use the alternator as a tensioner.

Closeup of the alternator. Probably use some blue locktight.

Belt I used for this setup. Compliments of a sweet lady at Advanced Auto that let me behind the counter to rummage thru all the belts :D

Need to pick up some proper exhaust stud bolts. They are 10x1.5 and alternator bolts were 8x1.25

Worked yesterday on some mounting ideas. One on each side of the engine and one on the front. Also stated on the new stand so that I will have access to the bell housing for measuring and planning for the reduction adapter.

The motor mounts will ultimately be made out of 1/4" stainless plate.

the stand will get some x bracing as well.

You go it going right... you dont need the front mounts I have... I bought them just for pattern purposes on building the mounts you already have built. Good luck to you. I hope you give Jerry @ BNR a shout to tune it when you area ready. When you get down to wiring and needing to replicate the VSS signal drop me a message on FB. Happy to come help out, but I leave the fabrication work to the more experienced welders. Im just an engineer and can read books and weld copper wires :-) lol

Have not done much lately. Had to get ready for the Easter weekend. Spent a few days at the camp. Had a nice weekend riding and playing.

I did get the motor off the engine stand. Moving it to a new stand so I can get the necessary bellhousing measurements for an adapter. Also made a deal with Mitch with Swaptime. Going to give him a shot at building my standalone harness and ECU tuning.

Few pics from the weekend

If you have any issues with Swaptime, let me know. I have the wiring books for the 2.0 LTG. Its pretty much the same wiring as my LUV except with the addition of the direct injection components.

Ill be on the water again mid-May. Taking care of my other hobbies and getting some things I wanted done before I am in the boat every weekend from May till Augusts.

Swap specialties has stand alone harness for the ecotecs. They seem to be the best prices I've seen. Have a friend that just ordered one. He's a ways out on the build be he said they were easy to work with and they do in house tuning as well.

br,lc,la I would like to see those wiring diagrams. They wouldn't happen to be in pdf form? Let me know when you feel like coming ride with us.

hogdoggin I looked at those guys also. I decided to give Mitch a shot. Let us know how that works out for your friend. If we Both end up satisfied that will be two options people will have for a harness and tuned ecu. My tune will not be locked. Mitch even offered to give me some HPTUNERS 101 lessons if I want.

Got the Motor on the new stand. Have to finish the front brace so I can take it off the picker. Then I will start on the shop drawing for the adapter. I am also going to pull the harness this week and send it to SWAPTIME.
