Holley Sniper, Fitech, FAST, MSD efi

Post by 1Gilom »

Anyone running any of these bolt on throttle body fuel injection systems? Ive searched and found a few threads but they arent very recent without much info.

I plan on putting it on my GM crate engine the HT383.

Just wanting the benefits of the throttle response and cold starts since I run my boat in freezing temps.

Fitech 2 barrel on a 408 Windsor DD. Had Fitech 4 barrel but DD runs better on 2. My throttle response is killer. Cold start is non issue with injection.
Sniper is good, as is FAST. Stay away from MSD. They have had issues.
I've had experience with all of them. They are not as plug and play as the companies would like you to believe. Some run great out of the box and others need more human adjustment. Adequate fuel press is a must. IAC settings are important. Giving them time to learn is key.
I run FiTech because they were the first with a price point I could sell to hotrod guys without breaking the bank. I know other guys that swear by the Snipers.

Running Fitech 4bbl on mine, no issue on cold starts, still tuning for throttle response. Probably because I have a DD and the 4bbl is a bit much, but I get some hesitation if I accelerate too hard.

I know it is, I just really don't want to spend the money right now. I'm going to tear the boat apart soon, have Fenner straighten the bottom, and probably put a sheet of 1/4" poly on the bottom. Maybe after I get it put back together I'll switch out to the 2BBL.
