CERP & Everglades Restoration

Postby glades cat » Fri Jan 30, 2015 6:38 am

There hasn't been much buzz lately concerning CERP & Everglades Restoration.
Here are a few projects underway and corresponding sites of concern that should be monitored and followed with appropriate involvement. Specifically, the River of Grass Greenway, Comprehensive Everglades Restoration Plan (CERP) and the Everglades Restoration Program. These projects influence water flows and levels, their management and structures utilized for its control. The ROGG is a bicycle path project that extends from Miami to Naples along the Tamiami Trail, but is part of a series of widespread Greeway projects that has affected the entire nation.

Interesting read, to say the least.

It'll be a while before we hear anything else.

The head of the ACoE approved the plan last month or maybe a little earlier and it was sent to Congress but they missed the deadline, so it will be held up for approval for a while.
