OK rode Lake Hernando today with Darkwader and it's not so bad put by Dec 16 if we don't get any rain it would be dry as a popcorn fart. Not that we would change it now to ride Hernando but just to let everyone know how it was.

There is some dry running and we stated out of the black mud. No one got stuck but there was only about 5 boats total.

I am waiting on Woodswoman to review and edit my press release and then I will send that off. Hopefully the radio stations will pick up on this one like they did before.

Right now I have had 6 guys respond to the offer of coming down. I'm pretty sure there will be some more. One guy was wondering if he could bring his wheelchair-bound son....does anyone have any experience with this??? I don't think it would fit on my boat but maybe someone has seen it done and can clue me in.

Skeeter, I am off today...so try giving me call again.... :P

The flyer looks good to me. And thanks for the responses to my "not well thought out" post. As far as the wheel chair bound child....we need to find out why they are w/c bound. Paralysis of the lower extremities would make it difficult to balance, hold self in place. Getting them on the boat isn't the issue. The nurse side of me is just being realistic and cautious. The airboater in me says we can figure it out, everyone rides. I will get in touch with our buddy in Savannah, hope he is available that weekend. Let me know what else we need so I can help. Some of my more alert residents are going to write letters. We also should think about a "pot luck" dinner/lunch.

I told him I'd figure out someway to get his son along. I may take the boat into work and see if I can't rig up something that isn't too dangerous

What about fuel...I've never been on that stretch of river before...how much fuel should I bring?? I only have a 20 gallon tank but if we are just cruising that lasts me a good while. Would 40 gallons do it you think??

Skeeter,

Just a heads-up for those who have never been to Loughman's....There are no shower rooms for campsites so you gotta be kinda self-sufficient in the way of camper or RV.

KOA is right down the road bout' 5 miles?

Limey, Never knew you were in the navy1 We might have served together as I met several of her majesty's sailors.

Super 8 Motel
I-95 exit 220
321-269-9310
This is the closest motel to Loughman's, it is the next exit south of Hwy 46 exit (Loughman's Lodge exit) right off 95.

Hey, I tried to book a room at Loughman this am and was told the place was booked for a benifit that weekend. They didn`t seem too sure on how to give up the rooms. Who do I contact, who do I bribe, who do I threaten.
My wife has agreed to come with me and we`re gonna be celebratin` our aniversary. So yeah, I need a room

Limey, give KOA a call and see if there is anything available. If not the Super 8 motel. Uncle bubba and crew are bunking in our cabin but if for some reason they are unable to come you are more then welcome.

Dakota...are you talking about the wedding or the ride for the troops? You already have a place at KOA for Dec 17th? I reckon I need to call them.
