New to Airboats -Need advice

Postby PChappell » Wed Aug 09, 2017 1:58 pm

I have a 12ft wooden airboat (weights 325llbs) with a 35hp Honda engine, ratio of a 1.69:1, and a wooden 54" prop. The boat will not run faster than 5mph with 1 person in it. Engine RPM's are 4,100. Anybody have any advice? Thanks

How wide is your hull? Is it a flat bottom airboat hull?

Sounds like heavy hull, under powered and under proped. My mini 12' hull is 212#, 85 hp engine and 70" 2 blade prop. Also, are you running skinny water?
